Free Pattern: Pinwheel Baby Quilt

Jodi Nelson made this sweet little baby quilt and wrote a tutorial for Moda Bake Shop. She used a charm pack to make her pinwheels but of course using up leftovers from your stash works equally well. Jodi came up with a very creative detail that makes this quilt special: she added Prairie Points to an inner border. Prairie Points, in case you are not familiar with the term, are folded fabric triangles that are usually added to the outer border of a quilt instead of traditional binding. But of course they can go anywhere on a quilt, as Jodi’s Pinwheel Baby Quilt shows.

Pinwheel Baby Quilt

EDIT: Moda is doing some housekeeping on their website. They are in the process of moving their older patterns and tutorials to an archive. Right now the pattern for this quilt isn’t available as they are working in alphabetical order and have only posted links up to the letter “B” so far. Sorry about that.

I have been trying to find the free pattern for this baby quilt but the Moda Bake Shop doesn’t have it and I want to do a simple download. Can you help?

Sorry, Cathy, unfortunately there is nothing I can do. Moda seems to be doing some rearranging on their website, and I don’t have the pattern, I was just linking to it. They say to check back often as they will move all their older patterns to the archive. It sounds like it will be available again eventually.
