Third Weekend in October
This was the first pattern that I ever bought. I had been quilting for about a year and was feeling intimidated by anything that didn’t follow the average block-sashing-border pattern. But I loved the quilt, bought the pattern anyway and put it away for a long time. Until one day I finally realized that it looked worse than it was, the quilt is made up of nine patch blocks, and it is all done with squares, half-square triangles and a little paper piecing.
Design by Ruth Powers, machine pieced and machine quilted by Beatrice Rieske
