Golden Gate Bridge

This wall hanging is the result of a challenge we did a few years back with my quilt group in Germany. We all chose a picture that we cut into pieces, then each participant received one of the pieces and was supposed to recreate it in fabric. My husband took this picture of the Golden Gate Bridge years ago on a trip to San Francisco, and I thought it would look beautiful in fabric. And I was right, everybody did a great job, and the result is just stunning.

Pieces made using all kinds of techniques by members of the group “Zick-Zack-Zicken”, put together and machine quilted by Beatrice Rieske

The other puzzle quilt projects can be seen on the group’s blog, unfortunately there are no tags but most of them were posted in 2008.
