Wendy made this quilt using the fabric line “Coney Island” by Fig Tree & Co. The bright summer colours and fabrics seemed to ask for a floral quilting pattern, and we chose the pantograph “Ginger Flower” for this quilt.
This colourful daisy quilt was made by Dianne, and I love the bright fabrics she used, especially the pink and turquoise. A bright busy quilt doesn’t really need a lot of quilting, and it won’t show much anyway but we picked a cute daisy design called “Wandering Daisies”. The back is cozy Fireside, and the quilting is very visible there.
Lisa was trying to use up her leftovers and scraps, and the result is this lovely star quilt. The quilting design is called “Starburst”.

This cute quilt in soft colours was made by Sharon as a gift for her new grandchild. The elephants are appliquéd by machine, using fusible web and blanket stitch. Sharon asked for a low density overall pattern for this project, and we chose the design “Raindrops”. If you are wondering why the rain is horizontal, I put the quilt on the frame sideways on purpose. We both thought the design looked better this way.
Diesen süßen Babyquilt in zarten Farben hat Sharon als Geschenk für ihr Enkelkind genäht. Die Elefanten sind mit Vliesofix aufgebügelt und dann mit der Maschine im Knopflochstich umnäht. Sharon bat um ein nicht zu dichtes Quiltmuster, und wir haben uns für “Raindrops” entschieden. Wer sich nun fragt, warum der Regen horizontal ist, das war Absicht. Ich habe den Quilt um 90° gedreht auf den Rahmen gebracht, weil wir beide fanden, dass das Muster so besser zu Sharons Projekt passt.
Here is another Bargello quilt, this one was made by Darlene. It is huge, about the biggest size I can fit on my frame. And it is absolutely flat on the floor, I checked several times while taking the pictures because I could already see the optical illusion of the waves in my camera. Isn’t it just fabulous? The black, white and grey colour scheme appeals to me, and Darlene also pieced the backing in these colours. She requested a wavy quilting design, this one is called “Time Warp”.
Und hier kommt gleich der nächste Bargello Quilt, diesen hat Darlene genäht. Er ist so groß, dass er fast die Möglichkeiten meines Rahmens gesprengt hätte, noch größer wäre nicht mehr gegangen. Und er liegt ganz glatt auf dem Boden, das habe ich mehrfach überprüft, als ich die Bilder gemacht habe, weil ich in der Kamera schon die Wellen sehen konnte, aber das ist eine optische Täuschung. Ist er nicht einfach toll? Das Farbschema in schwarz, weiß und grau gefällt mir richtig gut, und Darlene hat auch die Rückseite aus Stoffen in diesen Farben zusammengesetzt. Als Quiltmuster erbat sie sich etwas mit Wellen, dieses Muster heißt “Time Warp”.
Have you ever made a Bargello quilt? I have never really been tempted to try the technique but I have quilted a few recently that were just beautiful, and I might reconsider if I ever find the time. This lovely version in purple was made by Jean. She chose the Celtic Scroll design for quilting, and it creates nice texture and movement across the surface of the quilt.

Mich hat diese Technik bisher nicht in Versuchung geführt, aber ich habe im letzten halben Jahr einige Bargello Quilts gequiltet, und sie haben mir so gut gefallen, dass ich meine Meinung glatt ändern würde, wenn ich nur Zeit dafür hätte. Dieser Bargello in Lilatönen wurde von Jean genäht, und als Quiltmuster hat sie den Celtic Scroll gewählt. Dieses Muster verleiht der Oberfläche eine schöne Struktur und bringt Bewegung in die ganzen geraden Linien.

This beautiful sampler quilt was made by Cathy. Unfortunately the colours are really bad in the pictures. I have played around trying to make them look better but had no success, sorry about that. The pantograph I used for this quilt is called “Lapis”.

Patricia made this scrap quilt using strips and quarter-square triangles. The white background makes this my favourite kind of scrap quilt, a pattern I will definitely remember when trying to use up triangles. The pantograph we used is called “Fleur de Swirl”.

Hannah made this beautiful black and white log cabin quilt as a gift for her daughter. She sent me a picture after putting on the binding, so I can even show the finished quilt this time.
