Summer Safari

This cute quilt was also made by Maureen. Aren’t the animal panels just adorable? I quilted it with a pattern called “Sun Scallops”, just right for a summer safari.

Cozy Cotton Rainbow

Here is another quilt I quilted with the circle pattern “Champagne Bubbles”. Curves, swirls and circles work really well for geometric quilt patterns with lots of straight lines and sharp angles. This one was made by Maureen in a rainbow of colours.

Floral Log Cabin

This charming quilt was made by Bonnie. She mixed modern fabrics with a few more traditional floral prints and added a solid light background for a modern look. The quilting design she chose is called “Champagne Bubbles”.

Vintage Tin

“Vintage Tin” is a Crabapple Hill pattern, and this beautiful version was stitched by Sandra. I didn’t have a pantograph that looked like tire tracks, so we settled on “Celtic Scroll” instead, claiming it looked a bit like hubcaps. Maybe it was just our imagination, but it is a simple scroll pattern that worked well for the quilt.

Midnight Blooms

This is the last of three quilts that Angela of Cozy Cottons Quilting dropped off for quilting at the same time, a great pattern to feature a fabric that you don’t want to cut into tiny pieces. She chose the design “Diagonal Plaid Bias Cut” to finish her project.

Strippy Hearts

Here is another great pattern for a Jelly Roll. I especially love all the pink but the hearts would look great in any other colourway too. This quilt was also made by Angela of Cozy Cottons Quilting and she chose a heart pattern called “P.S. I Love You” to finish her project.

Ocean Spray

This lovely quilt in blue and turquoise was made by Angela. If you are local and haven’t met Angela, you should absolutely come and do so. In March she opened a new quilt shop in town, Cozy Cottons Quilting. She isn’t just a wonderful quilter, she is also a very friendly and cheerful person, and if petting fabrics at a quilt shop doesn’t put you in a great mood, Angela certainly will. This quilt and many others are displayed in the store as samples. The pattern Angela chose for her quilt is called “Overlapping Crop Circles”, one of my favourites. It has a modern look and adds great texture.

Giraffe Abstractions

I have quilted a couple of “Elephant Abstractions” for customers but never a Giraffe before. This one was made by Karen as a donation for a fundraiser, and she asked for simple quilting, so we chose the pattern “Taj Mahal”. Didn’t it turn out just wonderful?

Stiletto Stars

Lynnette made this quilt using the fabric line “Stiletto” by Basic Grey/Moda. Doesn’t it look elegant? I especially love the checkerboard border and how it blends into the background. The modern pantograph Lynnette chose for her project is called “Overlapping Crop Circles”.

Welcome Home

“Welcome Home” was made by Sharon, and as you can probably tell I had a lot of fun custom quilting it. This is such a sweet quilt with lots of details to discover… birds, dogs, cats and even sheep. Sharon added buttons and ric rac for details, and the sheep are three-dimensional. Truly a labour of love.
