Barnyard Bash Block #8 – Cassie the Cat
Summer is flying by, and I hope you are all having fun. It has been a little too hot for my taste for the last ten days, and I am hoping for cooler weather now. For August, Cassie the Cat is the free download for the Barnyard Bash Block of the Month. Somebody commented last month, they would make sure to keep Cassie far away from Marty and Mindy the Mice on their quilt. Well, Cassie doesn’t really strike me as the sharpest knife in the drawer. Don’t get me wrong, I love cats but when I look at her I have to think of Sally, one of my cats who passed away five years ago. She would always get really excited about birds, squirrels and whatever animals where running around in the yard but I am sure that had she actually caught anything, she wouldn’t have known what to do with it. My other cat Jessie used to bring me mice from time to time but Sally not so much. Anyway, I hope Marty and Mindy are safe from Cassie, and you enjoy the latest addition to the barnyard. Cassie will be available for free download until the end of the month and then move over to the pattern store in September to make room for Percy the Pig.
Jetzt ist der Sommer auch schon wieder halb vorbei, die Zeit vergeht wirklich wie im Flug. Hier ist es in den letzten zehn Tagen oder so ein bisschen zu heiß für meinen Geschmack gewesen, und ich hoffe jetzt auf etwas kühlere Temperaturen. Für August gibt es Cassie die Katze als Monatsblock 2018. Im letzten Monat hatte eine Leserin kommentiert, dass sie auf ihrem Quilt Cassie die Katze weit entfernt von Marty und Mindy den Mäusen platzieren würde. Ehrlich gesagt scheint mir Cassie nicht gerade die schlauste Katze zu sein. Ich liebe Katzen, aber ihr Gesichtsausdruck erinnert mich immer an eine meiner Katzen, die vor fünf Jahren gestorben ist. Sally war immer sehr aufgeregt, wenn sie Vögel sah oder Eichhörnchen und anderes Getier, das im Garten herumlief. Aber ich bin mir sicher, dass sie nicht gewusst hätte, was sie damit anfangen soll, wenn sie tatsächlich mal etwas gefangen hätte. Meine andere Katze, Jessie, hat mir ab und zu schon mal Mäuse gebracht, aber zu Sallys Fähigkeiten gehörte Jagen ganz sicher nicht. Aber egal, ich hoffe, dass Marty und Mindy von Cassie nichts zu befürchten haben. Bis zum Monatsende gibt es sie als kostenlosen Download, danach zieht sie in den Shop um, um im September Platz für Percy das Schweinchen zu machen.
